Orlando Pirates vs Black Leopards: Pirates player ratings

It looks like we have finally turned the corner. We played well. We controlled the game and stamp the authority. We could have scored more goals had it not been lack of composure. Benni McCarthy was unfortunate and we wish him a speedy recovery.

How They Played:

1. Moneeb Josephs: There's no improvement in Slimkat's reading of the game and ball distribution. The boy lacks vision naturally and uyaphapha. He made some crucial save though and kept the team in the game. 6/10.

2. Happy Jele: had an average game by his standards. Displayed solid performance defensively n his attack was limited. Always evergreen and reliable. 7/10

3. Ruben Cloete: Had a solid game n seems to be gaining confidence n founding his rhythm. Balanced his game defensively n offensively: 7/10

4. Lucky Lekgwathi: Malume started very jittery n committed silly mistakes and fouls. Gained momentum as the game progressed and did a sterling Job. 7/10

5. Siyabonga Sangweni: Evergreen as usual and proved to be in charge of our defense. He's a bit too casual and overconfident and that may cost us big time especially against persistent players. Kept things tight at the back. 7/10.

6. Andile Jali: Teams are targeting him and he's a victim of foul play. They hack him and referees don't protect him. Had a good game and kept things going in the centre of the park. 7/10.

8. Oupa Manyisa: Maintained shape and possession in the middle and supported well in attack. Not too much involved in the game but was there when needed. 7/10.

9. Diane Klate: Shows improvement and a lot of fighting spirit. Contested for every ball. Attacked and defended well. 7/10

10. Rudolf bester: Seems to have found his rhythm. Started off jittery and gained momentum. Mad his presence felt and fought for position in the starting XI. Braced his performance with a goal. 9/10

11. Benni McCarthy: Gave us direction upfront and it was no surprised when he scored. Was very unfortunate to be substituted early due to injury. Speedy recovery koloi yamabhakabhaka.

Substitutes:

1. Bongani Ndulula: Showed signs of improvement. Could have scored but lacked confidence. 5/10.

2. Benson Mhlongo: Njomane Kamgabhi.... welcome back Mayanga. Came into stabilise the midfield and allowed Manyisa freedom of movement. Had a very good game and initiated the move that doubled our lead. 6/10

Patrick Maloakase: Showed potential and deserves to be given a fair chance.

Our technical Team got it right at the end of the day hopefully they going to keep the momentum. Well done.

Good game by the boys in Black and whit although they took the foot off the pedal towards the end which resulted in a goal for our opponents. We could have scored more but I'm happy with the win and I'm sure the Bucs Faithfull is Happy. *Once a Pirates always a Pirates* Up The Bucs… gebhula Gebhu!!!!
