There is a
game that will always be on my mind, even though we lost it. If I’m not
mistaken it was the SAA super/BP top 8 final where we lost 1-0 to SuperSport United.
The stadium was packed, it was painted black and gold. The reason I remember
that game is because when the referee blew the final whistle Kaizer Chiefs fans
were clapping hands, blowing vuvuzelas though we lost the game.
It was
because of the fight the boys gave on the day. Even when 90 minutes was up and
we were playing on added time, no one was able to leave the stadium because the
way boys were fighting, anything could happen anytime. We never lost hope
because we were knocking on SuperSport United golie minute by minute. We lost
the final but no one dared to blame anyone because it was clear it was not our
day.
I'm not
asking for miracles from our players but all I want to see is the passion and a
will to win and make us and the management happy. It's ok to lose coz we are
not invincible but please show us that you entered the field with one thing in
mind, that is, to win the game. Leave us with no one else to blame but bad
luck.
Give no one
any reason to lash at you. We you lost to Ajax Cape Town the coach couldn't
believe you really lost because you played your hearts out that day. He went on
to say "if we play like this against pirates we will win", of which
we did and won the game with ease.
It was not
that we couldn't afford other players that we bought you but we saw something
special in you that many couldn't see. We didn't just go out to buy players, we
sat down and identified our needs, it is then that your names came on board
because we don't look for big names but we look for players with potential to
meet our needs.
You are the
right players to play for Kaizer Chiefs, you ain't there by mistake. Yes you are the
right players to bring back glory days to Kaizer Chiefs. National team
selectors are not wrong when select 10 players from our club, they know what
they are doing, we've got cream in our team.
All I’m
asking is that prove this to us, we know it but we just want to see it on the
field week in and week out. Not every player gets an honour of being watched by
the chairman and his children when he plays, that's a huge motivation. Prove to
us that you've got nothing to do with our losses.
Show some
hunger, give the technical team some headache, not the one of not getting it
right but the one to maintain form. You can do it guys, it's easy, just give
your all whenever given a chance. Each chance you get must be like the last
one.
I thank you!
