Pirates don’t play like real champions

THE DOMINANCE OF ORLANDO PIRATES of our football proves true the saying that "in the absence of the best, the worst becomes the best"...

I’m not taking anything away from Orlando Pirates; however, one needs to be honest... Pirates' victories are more symbolised by luck than sheer brilliance... there isn’t a single match where they are overwhelmingly dominant to be so much at de pinnacle of our football.

Whenever Pirates play, their supporters are forever on de edges of their seats and they are biting their nails, this therefore indicates, ours, is a land dominated by a non-dominant team... a clear indication that ours, is a weak league...when last did Pirates score at least 3 league goals?

You watch a team like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, you drink your beer in comfort with clear dominance, instead of squeezing our butt like you do when watching South Africa’s champions…

Barcelona and Madrid get a very high percentage of the television and media right thus thy can buy players of better quality compared to other teams in their league, in SA good playas are afraid of going to big teams like Pirates and Sundowns (Myeni) as thy sacred of competition. This thus leads to the competition between teams being higher than in other leagues - take for instance Man City... the more the competition the stronger the league... thus the reason people believe EPL is stronger than La Liga despite Barca dominating football… while in SA plays are pulled by the will to go overseas… thus thy will rather play for small teams than big 1nce with more competition… this leads to them being stronger...

Quite disappointing comment from Sidwell, no objectivity and no facts at all, Pirates have show quality since last season, they have shown that they have depth remember this season guys like Isaac Chansa, Ngobeni, Mahamutsa have not played that to me is depth...whether you like it or not Pirates deserve their success, there is plenty of quality in the PSL, Chiefs, Sundowns, Ajax, Swallows those are quality teams with good players....so Sidwell don’t be bitter bra just congratulate Buccaneers... let’s be objective.

For your info, Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Ajax Cape Town, etc get more criticism in this post than Pirates... a simple FACT is that I’ve clearly stated... Sidwell if I may ask... what do you mean when you say Pirates are the weak champions? If Pirates are weak - what about the other teams in the Premier Soccer? And if you say we watch the game on the edge of our seats what about the other teams whom we play against? And what do you mean we win by luck? The goals which were scored by Oupa Manyisa when we played against Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs were out of this world? Tell me one player who has scored such goals? I talked of Pirates and the Premier Soccer League at large... and I mentioned the overall play...and now, go back to my post, locate de part where, amongst many factors in hindsight, a brilliant goal by Manyisa is covered...while u at that, you’ll probably realise that this post is NOT just about Pirates... hopefully you will deviate from the wind generated by the earlier commentators. Based on your latest response, I’m of the view that you chose to stay disappointed instead of taking de rope... right? Silindile, I don’t know if your reading ability is failing you or you are filled with ignorance. In the 2nd paragraph, I did mention that, "I’m not taking anything away from Pirates"...that, in itself, is an indication that I’m giving credit to Pirates… and, yes, the post is predominated by Pirates, for the simple reason that, if you are to measure our league, what better team to do so with except for the dominant team which is Pirates?

And to see how other teams come into the picture, I also say,"ours is a weak league"... Pirates is a team, a "league" represent all teams... furthermore, I quote that "in the absence of the best..", this again, indicates to you that there’s no better team in SA than Pirates... and to close it off, when I say "they are not overwhelmingly dominant to be at the pinnacle of our football"...this is another reference to all other teams and how weak they are. Silindile, the moment u wear an expert analyst's cap and throw away that black and white cap u are wearing; you’ll be able to make sense of this simple view of our football...
