20.) Clifford Ngobeni
(Orlando Pirates)
He has some brilliant passing and has set the
likes of Mbuyani on and has had a couple of assists. It’s a pity he doesn't
play as often as he would wish to, but I still rate him high in my books.
19.) Josta Dladla
(Kaizer Chiefs)
His off the ball positioning is amazing - brilliant
midfielder indeed. When he was with Sundowns he used to have a terrible final
ball, especially when crossing but he has improved since joining Amakhosi. Has
several assists and has helped Chiefs win some crucial matches.
18.) Lefa Tsutsulupa
(Moroka Swallows)
Tsutsulupa
is very much underrated. His trade mark is not in scoring goals but he does
very well to set Swallows in motion if need be.
17.) Bongani Mbele
(Amazulu)
Too
often he runs on defenders and his passing is on point. He does dummies and
would be a player Usuthu can put their hopes on - brilliant player in my books.
16.) Lebogang Mokoena
(Mamelodi Sundowns)
I
always marvel at the brilliance of this player. He often has great first halves
for Sundowns and he has been brought down several times inside the 18 area to
win Sundowns those cunning penalty kicks. He has matured from a free falling
player he used to be and he is in a class of his own.
15.) Siyabonga Nkosi
(Golden Arrows)
We
all thought this guy was destined for greatness. What happened in Germany is
and will always be a mystery, but there's no doubt that the guy is intelligent.
Nice passes and he controls and dominates the midfield very well - still highly
rated in my books.
14.) Isaac Chansa
(Orlando Pirates)
I
can talk about Isaac the whole day. The Zambian has class of his own and he has
made thundering the back of the net his trade mark. Leading goal scorer for
Pirates last season and he is sure a smart and brilliant player in my books.
Several assists and his ability to score goals make him one of the best to me.
13.) Mthokozisi Yende
(Kaizer Chiefs)
Very
underrated player - he makes impressive runs off the ball. Position himself
very well and does rock one or two assists.
12.) Sifiso Myeni (Bidvest
Wits)
Brilliant
young star. Said no to Mamelodi Sundowns and NO to an overseas move because it didn’t
meet his standards - the future of South Africa is in the boy's hands.
11.) Surprise Moriri
(Sundowns)
Brilliant
player. He is now turned into a central midfielder and is doing very well. He
has some great passing skills and a great vision when going forward. Makes
impressive decisions in the field of play.
10.) George Maluleka
(Ajax Cape Town)
George
has done marvelous things for Ajax. When Serero was here he blended so well
with the Ajax team. George is still young and has a long way to go, but there's
no denying his brilliance. great player all round.
09.) Simphiwe
Tshabala (Kaizer Chiefs)
We
all love Shabba and he is a brilliant player, strong in his attacks and has a
mean left foot that can bring any house down. I know a lot may not agree with
where I put him, yet he is not as intelligent as the players I’m about to jot
down.
08.) Clifford Mulenga
(Mpumalanga Black Aces)
Brilliant
player. Can take shots from anywhere in the field and can turn a dull affair into
flames of magic and passion - had a couple of goals as well as assists. Brilliant
and highly rated in my books.
07.) Teko Modise
(Mamelodi Sundowns)
The
general Teko - brilliance is second nature to him. He will achieve much at
Sundowns this season and is a player to be watched.
06.) Khama Billiat
(Ajax Cape Town)
Amazing
to watch. He has been crucial for Ajax lately and might compete for the golden
boot with any striker on any given day.
05.) Siyabonga
Nomvethe (Moroka Swallows)
He
makes passionate runs. Works harder than anyone on the field, shares the ball
wisely and often he makes calculated decisions in the field. He sets other
players on and his wizardry has earned him respect from defenders nation wide.
He is much older now, but his class and experience is irreplaceable.
04.) Katlego Mphela
(Mamelodi Sundowns)
Now
here's one man that has kept South Africans on their toes. Positioning on and off
the ball is flawless. Scores impressive goals and makes very intelligent
decisions in the field of play. Brilliant when he is on song.
03.) Benni McCarthy (Orlando
Pirates)
A
lot would like to hate him, but he has worked under brilliant mentorship
through out his career and he has shown during a couple of games he has played
for Pirates that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the PSL. He has had
2 goals and an assist thus far and he can only go higher and higher. Very
intelligent runs off the ball and defenders surely do know how hard playing
against Benni could be. My all time South African favorite player and highly
rated in my books.
02.) Andile Jali
(Orlando Pirates)
A
very brilliant player an quick and decisive. He has been tested against
midfield maestros like Letsholonyane and Nengomasha and he has come out tops.
Andile is the future and for a young with such a big heart it can only just get
better with time. He has great vision and his passing is very accurate. Love
him or hate him, he is the best.
01.) Oupa Manyisa
(Orlando Pirates)
Ace
as those that love him would call him. He is a brilliant and down to earth
footballer. He is tipped to become the footballer of the season. I think any
list that goes out and doesn’t have Oupa and Andile would lack credibility. He
has been a pillar of strength for Pirates and we all have enjoyed watching OUPA
play. Hope there is still more of Oupa to see than what we have seen recently.
To see than what we have seen recently.
