Don't understand why people are going on about national pride..blah blah blah. So what if he was the most dedicated player on the team? He wasn't fit. End of story. Look at what happened to Ronaldo (Brazil). He became too fat to chase the ball. We need a fit team that can score goals.

He wasn't really given a chance to prove himself in the friendlies. I think he deserves to be there ahead of Nomvete. He might be lacking a bit of speed and fitness, but he has so much skill and experience. One of South Africa's best players ever!!!

No holy cow, lest we forget that Benni is our own leggend. What has happened in the past is all water under the bridge. We must not fool ourselves when Bafana beat a non violent developing team like Guatamala. Everbody knows that even in our hay days we never won by that great margin. So why prey on a small team and then drop Benni just like that. A moment will come durring the world cup and the fans will demand Benni as a substitute. Good enough Bhele has at the end got the right goat to slaughter, hence his selection. It would be fair enough to have the dropped players as national guard or reserves. Granted the coach is a great guy but this is ours more than anybody. This exclusion is very very taboo and must be rectified.
