Diski yaMzansi is intensifying and up with the best in the world. Greeting Diski fans and Mzansi people! In this mid transfer window some have been happy and some sad, angry and disgusted about players signed, loaned, released and those who signed pre-contracts.
I was in Mamelodi a few weeks back and discussing diski with Mamelodi Sundowns fans, hmm these fans really feel let down by their beloved players, for example, Dillon Sheppard was forever reassuring fans that come next season he will still be Sundowns players yet he signed a pre-contract with bafana ba Platinum Stars.
“The less said about Josta Dladla the better. He played worst and horrible in his last game against Kaizer Chiefs, the team he signed a pre-contract with," said one Sundowns fan. Just to help you understand the pain some of the fans feel... and it’s not only about Sundowns, but Mzansi teams.
I think pre-contract should be signed in the last few weeks left of your contract simply because of loyalty and honoring your contract with the club. Remember David Beckham’s last days with Real Madrid (Spanish giants) were horrible because of his pre-contract with another club.
Mzansi legends are right in saying Mzansi players are in it for money not enjoying diski. This pre-contract thing is really killing the beautiful game. I recently asked one of the fans how he felt about the “pre-contract” signing while still with a team.
He said, “Betrayal, betrayal!” And that player will be always be BOO when he play. Hmm painful ne? Now guys tell me is it right to sign a pre-contract?
Remember there’s enough diski here in Mzansi…
