THE WEEKEND THAT WAS...

Written By Unknown on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 | Wednesday, November 05, 2008

First and foremost, and yes I know, it is not FOOTBALL, but Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton, the new formula one KING, well done. I must say it was hilarious to see Fillipe Massa’s father celebrate prematurely, it’s never over till it’s over old man, didn’t your mother teach you anything?

Getting back to the usual, Orlando Pirates blew it again this weekend, I could feel the disappointment in Mabalane’s tone as he received his man of the match award, now the Pirates fans can wait for the weekly apology from captain Seema.

Yeses, this man is costing this team gently but surely. I do however agree with some fans that the formation used by Pirates is unlikely to yield more than one goal a game and when you have defenders like Seema, you need to score at least three goals in a game and then pray.

Remember what I always say my Pirates peeps, abusers will always apologize. The Mthembu saga goes on, I am really tired of this now, It must just come to an end, I don’t even think the Shabir Shaik trial lasted this long, what is so difficult here really ?if this was a dispute between Amazulu and Bay united, this could have been sorted in 1980.

Mamelodi Sundowns lost again, to Bay United again, there is no motivation in this team anymore , throwing money at these players is not working at all, throwing R14 000 at Zuma, Vilakazi, Mphela, Mbesuma, Monterio who have all played overseas is not as effective as it was four years ago after all they earn in the region of R100 000 a month, some reportedly even earn double that, Bay United on the other hand is not motivated by money , but by the pride that comes with walloping the league’s fat cats.

Kaizer Chiefs have won their past two games, congrats to them, suddenly all of their fans are not talking about quality anymore, people are content, and I have been seeing people wearing some Chiefs gear for the first time since the Arrows massacre. It’s amazing what two games can do.

Congrats to the Ajax Cape Town coach, Craig Roslee, he became a father this weekend, defenders or in this case ex defenders do score as well. Congrats Mr. Dad. Still on Ajax, an interesting rivalry is developing between Supersport United and Ajax, these are very good teams with South African coaches, there are very few shenanigans in these teams, they just get on with it, hence they improve every season, if I could get an Ajax jersey in Gauteng, I would have it by now, pity the thinking is still very much Cape Town instead of National.

PIRATES
They now wear red for some mythological reasons and know they are wearing some boots with Chiiefs colors and the Horoscope reason is that those boots are rated X. Well that sad, one player costing pirates is Lucky Lekgwathi, evertime he cost us he plays his cost us a goal yet he gets every game time. Lucky needs plenty of bench time and be sold at most. Benson Mhlongo has already faded. Teko and Mashego are burnout. Mthembu is undermined by coach. Kamuwendo and Krol are dog and Cat. Joeseph need a short brake. Duku Duku and Krol are Lion and Hyeana. Krol is not pirates material his become relaxed over winning nothing. He is just like Santana always experimenting failure. Krol has played same people over and over again untill they sustained a temporary win but he failsto intergrate the rest of the players into the team. No where in hell should a team like Pirates at the moment do so bad, the better and quicker Krol ships back on his Dromerdaries back to Holland the better. I see Krol escorted out of the stadium this weekend against Chiefs. Chiefs is very hungry for a win and Krol is taking advantage of Pirates. Khabo Zondo and Jerry Shosana can be roped in untill next season.

Come on guys the Hollander is out of ideas. He was released by Zamalek for being avarage. If Holland is not using him what te hack are we doing with him. One thing for sure is that all current big team coaches in South Africa are too complaicent. When in the world did we have a season when all big teams are doing just fairly? This has nothing to do with diversity Krol is pathetic, he came in hungry and since he wear a suit and tie his over the moon of doom. Even poor Mgithi is doing much better given the crop at his hands. Gorden is fighting hard with minimal human resources at his hand. Neil Torvey is fighting a brave fight. Steve Kompela is a great fighter, what is the excuse of Pirates, Chiefs, Sundowns, Cosmos and Swallows excuses? I guess we are sleepy giants, we have become non violent, we beat no team. The failure at team level is what is also fermenting failure at national level. The ingredient to happy soccer centers arround happy big teams. This does not take away from those who help make up the league but some things come with age.

Anyway, I am staying away on the game againsts the Japs and Bafana Bafana. Why get in the bus if it is written "accident prune ride"
