Telkom Kockout Cup Weekend Preview with Mduduzi Mazibuko

Written By Unknown on Friday, November 7, 2008 | Friday, November 07, 2008

Saturday, November 08

Free State Stars v Bay United
Venue: Charles Mopeli Stadium
Isikhathi: 15:00
Preview: Ea Lla Koto (fight to the end) will want to show their never-say-die attitude they showed against Orlando Pirates in the league when they meet Bay United this Saturday. However, this is going to be a BIG tusk for Stars as they are playing against a dangerous and energetic Watsh’Umlilo (The fire is burning) team who had just destroyed Mamelodi Sundowns not once… but… twice in the League and Telkom Knockout Cup.
Prediction: win United

Moroka Swallows v Orlando Pirates
Venue: Olympia Park
Isikhathi: 20:00
Preview: Amabhakabhaka will be looking to register their second victory in a row against Swallows. Ruud Krol will want to continue their good performance in the Telkom Cup. But The Beautiful Birds will be gunning for vengeance. One wonders if the Birds will be flying at night as they always struggle. This “Soweto Derby” is going to be a crack... a one you mustn’t miss as it will go to the history records.
Prediction: win Swallows

Sunday, November 09

SuperSport United v Bloemfontein Celtic
Venue: Super Stadium
Isikhathi: 15:00
Preview: Matsatsantsa (The Swanky Boys) will be smiling all the way to the field on Sunday as they’ll know that the stadium won’t be surrounded by thousands of GREEN and WHITE supporters. It’s a game Gavin Hunt will surely want to win no matter what. Masokolara are not playing good diski, but one could say maybe they aim to win the Telkom Knockout Cup particularly after whipping Santos 5-0. Mich d'Avray’s team will be expected to win this game… especially from the Phunya Sele Sele supporters.
Prediction: win United

Ajax Cape Town v Golden Arrows
Venue: Athlone Stadium
Isikhathi: 18:00
Preview: One would say this should have been the FINAL game of the tournament: Urban Warriors vs Abafana Bes'thende (The Backheel Boys). I can’t really tell which team will win this one. But if I to ask the public… many will go with Manqoba Mngqithi’s team who are third in the PSL and playing wonderful football. However, Ajax is one team you can’t ride off. It’s going to be Manqoba Mngqithi vs Craig Rosslee.
Prediction: win Arrows

ALL games will be watched and analyzed... by Mdu
