Stars outsmart United
Free State Stars came from behind to beat Bay United 2-1 in the quarterfinal of the Telkom Knockout Cup at the Charles Mopeli stadium on Saturday. This was not one of those interesting games as both teams struggled to show their pedigree. Luntu Mazana scored for United. While Stars were rescued by Saitjheni Tsotetsi who netted his second goal in two games and Jimmy Kauleza’s super strike, which ended the dreams of United playing in the semifinals.

Josephs almost sink Pirates
Amabhakabhaka displayed some dazzling diski when they destroyed Moroka Swallows 3-2 in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinal on Saturday at Olympia Park. Thulasizwe Mbuyane, Dikgang Mabalane and Gilbert Mushangazhike scored for Pirates, while Cecil Oerson and Elton Morelato netted for the Dube Birds. However, many Pirates fans won’t be happy to see Josephs as the last men when Bucs plays in the semis especially after his goalkeeping errors that give Swallows those two goals.

Lucky Celtic make semis
Bloemfontein Celtic beat SuperSport United on penalties in Atteridgeville on Sunday to make the semis. This was one strange game, which saw three own goals. These bizarre own goals were scored by; Rudi Isaacs, Keamogetse Wolff, and Glen Salmon who ended the fiasco that saw both teams leveled at 2-all. Katlego Mashego was the only player who scored on open play when he scored United’s penalty. Celtic eventually won the game on penalties after no goals were scored in extra time.

Ajax end Arrows superb diski style
Ajax Cape Town beat Golden Arrows 3-1 to reach the semifinals of the Telkom Knockout Cup in Athlone izolo (Sunday). Ajax stunned 100s of people at the stadium when they were 3-0 up in 30 minutes. It was like dejavu, but in the case of Arrows who were on the same score sheet when they annihilated Chiefs 4-1 in their previous cup game. The goals came from Mabhuti Khenyeza, Sifiso Vilikazi and Brett Evans for Ajax; and Bonakele Twala scored for Arrows.
