Soweto Derby – Black is indeed Back!!!

"Drown Khosi Drown" are the words you will be hearing all over Soweto nowadays.

Black is indeed back, and they have brought flair, finesse as well as Lennox Bacela with them. Orlando Pirates coach Roger de Sa's ingenuous combinations as well as Irvin Khoza's faith in ‘The Moses’ (Roger de Sa) of the Bucs camp is finally reaping rewards, with "Bucs-celona" through to the finals of the MTN8 as well as to the semi-finals of the most prestigious competition on the continent, being the CAF Champions League.

After being eliminated from the MTN8, Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has a lot to explain, especially seeing he brought "11 defenders" to a game in which he was trailing by 1 away-goal. He also has a lot to explain with regards to the constant selection of Kingston Nkhatha ahead of Lehlohonolo Majoro who showed promise in attack at the dying minutes of the game).

Furthermore he has to justify the fact that he could not manage to outwit a team that played 3 pressing games in a space of a week, after reporting the previous week that he had rested some of his players for the big semi-final, as well as reporting that Chiefs had the upper-hand in terms of fatigue.

To put it simply, Pirates players were phenomenal, they showed passion, competitiveness as well as a drive to win at any cost. They began the first and second half at a sensational pace, which proved too much for Chiefs players as they resorted to "parking the bus" and Itumeleng Khune's wasteful attempts at a long pass to a lone-striker.

The introduction of Manti Moholo and Sifiso Myeni in the middle of the park, added further fuel to the burning attack force "The Moses" had assembled, and the cherry on top was the spot-on referee that never took his foot off the paddle.

In conclusion, Pirates have showed splendid form, and ‘The Moses’ has proved that he is not merely at the Happy People camp for the nice view, however, He is there to make history and is there to continue where Ruud Krol started off, after a wonderful season of winning the Treble.

Up The Bucs!!!
