It is
always upsetting to hear that great young talent was lost to football because we
coaches fail to recognize and/or use South African players' skills, creativity
and potential.
Such cases
are endless and that's completely abnormal. Are we aware how many young
players' life or dreams are shattered because we coaches do not know how to
develop, train, motivate, guide, support, inspire or lead them?
How many of
us feel guilty when we kick out from our clubs promising young players and
replace them with imported mediocrity?
Where is
our consciousness, knowledge and honesty when we demand the young players to
change their nature and respect foreign football ideologies that our players
cannot identify with?
Isn't that disgusting
that some of us pretend to know - what actually we don't know - and teach
others in those South African Football Association’s (SAFA) courses the wrong
way to nurture South African talent so that more of that talent will be lost?
To me it's
obvious that we don’t know what we are doing.
