Making
their replica debut in the English Premier League, the American sportswear
giants have taken the reigns at Spurs, succeeding Puma in the design of all
Tottenham Hotspur apparel.
New
designers Under Armour begin their partnership with Tottenham in some style,
unveiling what could be one of the best looking Tottenham home kits in many
years.
With
the appointment of Andre Villas-Boas, the signings of Sigurdsson and Vertonghen
and the reveal of their new-look replica line, there are sweeping changes at
Tottenham Hotspur.
Drawing
inspiration from Tottenham’s Le Coq Sportif and Hummel kits of the 80s – a time
where the club won two FA Cups and the UEFA Cup – Under Armour stamp their
style with a new all-white domestic home strip featuring a grey trim across the
collared jersey and white shorts.
For
the away design, it’s a return to Tottenham’s traditional navy look complete
with a white trim and v-neck collar.
Each
jersey uses an ultra lightweight fabric which balances durability,
breathability and mobility.
On
the back of the home shirt there is mesh ventilation (shaped like a cockerel!)
which allows for superior airflow.
Under
Armour may be the new kids of the Premier League, but they’re already
impressing. Unfortunately for the American brand the UA logo be getting Champions
League exposure, with Tottenham losing their place in the tournament to London
rivals and Champions League winners Chelsea.
