Nike
yesterday unveiled the new Spartak kits for next season which reflect the
traditional values and heritage of the club. The home kit is classic red with a
traditional white stripe on the chest which is perforated with red lines. A key
element of away kit design is a graphic image of a gladiator’s helmet,
reflecting the team’s passion and will to fight for the victory. This graphic
is used for the first time and is a symbol for the most titled club in Russia.
Underneath
the club’s emblem, and sitting against the heat, is an inscription Spartak Forever. It
symbolizes player’s and fan’s dedication to the club. Under the shirt’s collar
you can find an image of a gladiator in a diamond – these are very important
symbols for Spartak.
While
producing the new kit, Nike designers have used the latest innovative
technologies which help players to perform at their best. The kits are made of
23% lighter fabric with 20% stronger knit structure than the Nike’s previous
kits and feature Nike Dri-FIT technology to wick moisture away from athletes to
help keep them cool and dry on-pitch. The glued T-type conjunctions in the
shoulder area strengthen the stitches, which take the biggest pressure during
sharp moves at the field.
The
new kit is made from Nike's recycled polyester, making them Nike's most
environmentally friendly kit ever produced.
Each kit (jersey and shorts) is made using up to 13 recycled plastic
water bottles. This manufacturing
process reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to manufacturing
virgin polyester. Since 2010, Nike has
used an estimated 115 million recycled plastic bottles to create its high
performance kits.
“Nike has partnered with Spartak since 2005.
This is a club with passionate fans and great traditions. We wanted to create a kit using the latest
innovative technologies, and also to bring special attention to the symbols and
heritage of the club in the design, "said Olga Koroleva, Nike Russia
football brand manager.
“The new kit completely reflects our history
and heritage,” said Spartak captain Sergey Parshivlyuk. “The home kit is a classical design
respecting the traditions and colours of our club. The away kit reflects our fighting
spirit at the beginning of the season and our character. We are faithful to our
ideals, our history and our fans and we are ready to fight for the victory.”
