Greetings, Happy spring day, HAPPY SPRINGBOK DAY!
Last
night, when the transfer window was closed shut, my heart traipsed down the
corridors of history to 1990. Then in my
early teens, I knew the starting XI of Downs with my heart. To this day I can rattle that line up without
a pause. I thought of 1990 because the
style and the achievements of that TREBLE
winning side was what President Patrice Motsepe has set to emulate and
better. Yes treble (1990 BP Top8, JPS & League CHAMPS)
Sadly
with every passing season, the chicken and beef stock are replaced by new
brand, a LAUGHING STOCK called Bafana ba Style.
Motsepe joined futbol to usher in new paradigm to pay structure and
secure his players future. All good
intentions and noble as before him Kaizer Motaung revolutionised PROFESSIONALISM of football. Two decades later Irvin Khoza changed the face
of FOOTBALL SPONSORSHIP.
Whereas
Motaung guarded his investment with jealousy, Motsepe left it all in the hands
of advisers and friends. Motsepe went to school is Swaziland; where does his MD
come from? When quizzed on his poor
administration, Motsepe points to his YES MEN! Are there no monitoring and
evaluation at Downs? How about corporate governance?
Today
players at Mamelodi Sundowns are a frustrated lot. Competent and skilful players are reduced to
nobodies. News on KO.Com are heart
breaking on Zothwane, Mmotong and Ramokala.
The supporters of Sundowns deserve better. This thing of rushing to a player because
Chiefs in particular show interest must cease.
Cut of the deadwood, release the unwanted, cut your losses and Sundowns
may reap the benefits. The competitive
Downs pushes Bucs & Chiefs, which have a positive effect on Bafana
Bafana. Do it for the country, if not
for The Brazillians please El Presidente.
