A trip down memory lane

Well it was around July when Mina noProf finally agreed on what to do, iblog that will feed Mzansi the very best of the best. We played around a couple of names, until we finally agreed, Diskioff. There we go, our first article, Monday, August 25th, 2008.

Amakhosi edge through was our debut article, by none other that Proffesor himself. Then I read it and thought, well we have a long way to go. Kaizer Chiefs had just lost 1-0 to Moroka Swallows, but having edged through on a 2-1 aggregate. Well Prof could hardly put two paragraphs on the very first article but like the wise people say, a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.

That only made us to go from strength to strength, with us aiming beyond the sky. Look at us now, a few months later, I am putting together our 400th article, wow. We since managed to put together a team most websites only dream to have, and well they can have it but not our first lady, I am talking about someone at the heart of Diskioff, the rose among the thorns, our very own Miss K.

Well to this team I can simply say once again, you are simply the best, and you set your own standards and you know that the only thing we need to do is keep our very own standards.

Proffesor: "True words from Baile! I remember the first article of DISKIOFF as I wrote it around 11pm. Mr. Know it ALL made his debut with a powerful article as well (Sundowns has a lot of Moola! – 29 August 2008). Then it was Sthe with his European news that knocked down a lot people. Miss K was on her own game as she added what was missing in the team. Who should forget the dynamic three: Nito, Doc, and Tumisho. If I have time I would write a book about these talented guys as every time I read their stories I get inspired. This dynamic Diskioff blog has really grown and it's all thanks to our loyal fans!"

Mr. Know it ALL: “Mr. Know it All’s I write what I like reflects the attitude of the guys at Diskioff, we are not loyal to any teams in our reflections, we say it as it is, we do not often agree but we still say it as it is, it is no wonder that the mainstream media visits us more often than they will ever admit. We do not write to please each other, we do not write to promote the teams we love, we keep our standards high and we are indebted to the followers of the blog for making it what it is, but the challenge is to grow much bigger so just like I do, send links of interesting articles to your friends, to your enemies, to your girlfriends etc. Write to us and tell us what you think. For the love of football we all write what we like.”

To our loyal Diskioff fans, without you we simply are nothing at all. We intend to make you enjoy this blog even more, so keep on coming back for more because the very best is yet to come.

People remember that on this very special day, we need to take a moment of silence to all those who are affected and infected by HIV and AIDS and most of all reflect on our own behavior. Let us be wise and Condomise South Africa.

Diskioff wants to wish all of you, a blessed Aids day with the hope of us understanding the significance of taking that AIDS Test and knowing our statuses.
