Baile, boet, Miss K is duly impressed with your efforts of watching the Black and White… and the special mention in said article!! I agree with your comments there, we are all focusing on 2010, forgetting that soccer will not come to a standstill after The World Cup.
South African Football needs a huge ass Academy for all spheres of our game. Our defenders leak like old sieves at the most inopportune times, our midfielders don't have nearly enough stamina to keep the pace up for the full 90+minutes and our strikers are goal shy!
We need to have systems in place that ensure that we can field a team of players that will not freeze on us when we need them to perform!
For that funding is extremely important, not just for individual cllubs and incentives but for the game as a whole. I'm hoping to win the Lotto one day, should that happen, I will donate the entire amount to the betterment of this great game that I love so much.
Maybe if we have an academy that will take soccer seriously, on a holistic level, meaning from the players' lifestyles right up to their skills on the pitch, that will improve our FIFA Standings drastically.
