Watching a game between Wits and Santos at Milpark, a game that happened to be the league opener for this season, I couldn’t help but wonder if Imtaz Patel is happy with the product he bought. The game was very ugly to watch on TV , At one point I could hear clearly conversations between players, I am sure I heard Rantjie saying his balls were hurting, or maybe he said the ball hurt him but whatever he said, the point is the lack of atmosphere is not good for football especially for a game televised live. We need to be frank, Fans make football, and Playing in front of empty stands is an ultimate insult to the sport. Surely Mr. Patel will be forgiving because Supersport United are also culprits. But this totally blows Mr. Khoza‘s constant assertions that the PSL is in the top ten of leagues globally and some drastically must be done to improve our soccer. I propose that drastic measures must be taken to make people like Mazolman, George Mogotsi, Putco Mafani actually do their work. Here is a fact, Chiefs has the biggest support in South Africa, bigger than the older teams. Chiefs were formed in the 70’s, in the 80’s they were already biggest supported team, but with all their resources , Wits, Supersport, Platinum Stars, and many more struggle to attract 1000 people to a soccer game in a league that is worth billions, in England they would shout “Bollocks”.STORY continues:http://diskioff-mrknowitall.blogspot.com/
