Does Chiefs have what it takes to be Champions?

I am sure all the Chiefs fans have answered “yes” already , and probably Pirates and Sundowns fans have given their resounding “no”, come now diski fans lets all be objective. There are a number of factors that contribute to a team winning the league, resources are key, a good coach, a bit of luck to name just a few. Let us assess the Amakhosi playing resources this season. The defence has never been a problem Chiefs and certainly this season is no different, two good goalkeepers, I do suspect that based on what we have seen so far Khune will have a milder season so his defense will need to step up a gear, Valery Nahayo seems solid at the back and can be classified as a good signing and the key man in defense. The midfield is anchored by Nengomasha who we can all agree is a real soldier, but I am not yet convinced by Letsholenyane , does he possess “big team temperament” , Simphiwe Tshabalala needs to improve his game , a lot of running as we saw against Nigeria but not really a dangerous player . The Chiefs faithful are probably very excited by Torrealba and Schalkwyk, with good reason too, they seem to have established a good rapport and Torrealba is class player. Someone needs to slap Ertugral across the eyes for ignoring Schalkwyk’s talent last season however the recent sending off of Torrealba exposed the thinness of the Chiefs squad .When Torrealba tried his hand in boxing , Chiefs suddenly realized an urgent need to get another striker. So what is my verdict on the resources? This is not the best squad in the PSL, if everything depended on players, Chiefs would not win the league.
