The AmaZulu Community Trust presents the CCC

The AmaZulu Community Trust has joined forces with a host of companies in launching a first of its kind fundraising social six-a-side football spectacle which was launched on 26 March 2014 in Durban.

The Corporate Charity Challenge (CCC), as it has been coined will be held over a five day period on Thursday nights from 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th April at the Moses Mabhida Stadium People’s Park fields.

The final will be played on 28 April 2014 as a curtain raiser for the KZN Derby between AmaZulu and Golden Arrows which is to be played at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium at 17h00.

Standard Bank and ENS have been roped in as secondary sponsors while East Coast Radio and Independent Newspapers will function as media partners during the football challenge.

AmaZulu Community Trust Chairman, Lunga Sokhela said the aim behind the challenge is to raise money to run programs that will help the community.

“The idea is to allow other corporates to get involved in social responsibility work, to raise funds  on a larger scale for the benefit of communities that are in need. With that in mind the Corporate Charity Challenge was designed, to allow the involvement of big business around Durban as well as South Africa to be involved.”

“The proceeds of this challenge will be used in the operational cost of running all these programs that take place in arrears such as Ezakheni (Ladysmith), Eastern Cape, Durban and possibly in the near future in Gauteng as well.”

“The AmaZulu Community Trust uses football extensively as a tool to gain huge audiences within this market as they respond very well. All in all it’s also another way the trust is using football to get companies involved,” said Sokhela.

The 16 team challenge will also present an opportunity for the companies to network and socialize with their families on the night while also encouraging exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  Entrance to the matches will be free.

ECR will give provide a platform for radio interviews throughout the period of the challenge in terms of getting the community of Durban to come out to watch and support the matches. ENS have sponsored the kit which will be worn by all 16 teams during the challenge. Standard Bank has sponsored a part of the financial cost of the challenge itself. Independent Newspapers through their publications, Isolezwe and the Daily News will be our print partners.
