Mamelodi
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is slowly but surely throwing in the Premier Soccer
League (PSL) championship towel after two consecutively defeats against Orlando
Pirates and Bidvest Wits to close the gap with Kaizer Chiefs.
Mosimane is
sabotaging himself with his tactical philosophy of building his winning
combination around few individuals than building a successful and sustainable
team winning combination.
Despite
having adequate of talented and quality players, Mosimane’s team selection is
subjective to few players which resulted in poor form when some of the special
players are not in the team through suspension or injury.
It was
disheartening listening to Mosimane attributing his defeats against Pirates and
Wits to the absence of key players in his team. His utterances will demoralise
other players who are not part of the winning combination.
Mosimane should
treat his players equal as I don’t believe that a big team like Sundowns should
be built around one man as they are always struggling when either Khama Billiat
or Alje Schut are out with suspension or injury.
The
championship battle is not yet over but Mosimane must desist from relying on
few individual by building a confident and collective winning team without
giving certain players special treatment and attention.
