United welcome Kenyan side, AFC Leopards in the first round of the CAF
Confederation Cup on Saturday evening at the Lucas Moripe stadium. Kick-off is
set for 20h15.
Matsatsantsa
overcame Botswana side Gaborone United 3-0 on aggregate in their previous CAF
Confederation Cup encounter and will look to replicate that performance in the
first round match-up against a formidable Leopards side that went passed Ethiopian
outfit, Defense SC 4-1 on aggregate.
Ingwe
are currently eleventh in the Kenyan Premier League table going into the third
round of fixtures.
Cavin
Johnson's side will be boosted with the timely return of key defenders, Thabo
September and Sibusiso Khumalo who both missed the trip to Gaborone due to
injury.
Cavin
Johnson: "The personality is when you are playing at home (Lucas Moripe Stadium),
that's when we need to be at our very best. It's a big stage for us and we have
to come to the party and showcase what we can do. Leopards is a formidable side
and are well known for producing some of Kenya's best talent. We are well aware
of what they can do and we have planned accordingly for them. This stage is
where we will be tested-you can either play or you can't. Some of the players have to prove that they
have got that character to be able to play against the best in Africa. We want
to progress to the next stage and have made our intentions very clear to
everyone."
