Another opportunity for Champion Coaches to influence the match

The Carling Black Label Cup is an innovative campaign that affords Champion Coaches the opportunity to influence the much anticipated showpiece between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates and at FNB Stadium on July 27.

Supporters not only get to choose their starting line-ups for the match, choosing the players who they believe will take them to victory against their arch rivals, but also have the ability to make a substitution in the 50th minute of game day.

The innovative change for the 2013 leg of the Carling Black Label Cup has resulted in fans having the ability to select the player they would like to vote onto the field of play, as opposed to one they wish to remove.  This follows on from the feedback received from champion fans in the past two years. The team’s regular coach will then decide the player that should be replaced.

So if there is a favourite player who does not make the starting line-up, fans will get the opportunity to vote the stars into the game with their substitution. Fans will get to sms jersey numbers of players to a specific team short code. Kaizer Chiefs will sms their number to 30671, while Orlando Pirates will use 30672 respectively.

“We are always looking for ways to innovate and improve the Carling Black Label Cup concept. One of the things that our Champion Coaches told us last year was that they would like a change to the substitution mechanism and we have heeded their call. This is a campaign for the fans, it is their chance to step into the limelight and we want to make it as enjoyable and as interactive as possible for them,” says Vijay Govindsamy, General Manager - Carling Black Label.

Voting for the starting line-ups remains open until the 23rd of July at midnight, giving supporters the opportunity to make any late changes to their line-ups.

Fans can do this by purchasing a Carling Black Label beer and dialling *120*764* on their cell phones.
Fans must then enter their unique code found on the underside of the bottle cap and the # sign (with no spaces in between), and can then choose the team they would like to manage, and the players they would like to see start. The voting is free of charge to the public.

Those supporters who cast their votes can win great prizes, including a share of R3-million worth of airtime, match tickets to the showpiece event on July 27 and, best of all, a coach’s experience with either Orlando Pirates or Kaizer Chiefs on match day.

One of the unique features of the Carling Black Label Cup is the fantastic prize that will allow two lucky fans to experience their team in training, sit in the pre-match briefing and be part of the dug-out with their favourite team. This is a once in a life-time experience for adult consumers.

All supporters who cast their vote for the players they would like to see compete in the 2013 Carling Black Label Cup will be automatically entered into this competition.
