Kaizer
Chiefs will be hoping to consolidate their position on top of the Absa
Premiership when they welcome SuperSport United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on
Wednesday, 15 May 2013.
Tickets
for the eagerly awaited clash are on sale at Computicket including
Shoprite/Checkers countrywide selling for R40 adults and R10 for juveniles.
The
game will feature two of the most exciting goalkeepers in the Absa Premiership;
Itumeleng Khune and Rowen Williams. Khune, regarded as one of the African
finest goalkeepers, has already come out tops this season against the young
Williams as the Glamour Boys sent the boys from South Africa’s capital packing
at the same venue in November last year.
The
Glamour Boys who remain unbeaten at home this season will be making their last
appearance at Peter Mokaba Stadium in 2012/2013 PSL season.
Marketing
Director Jessica Motaung commented; “The support we have received at Peter
Mokaba Stadium has been awesome and we are grateful as the Club. It will be our
last home game in Polokwane this season and we are going there to win.”
The
Glamour Boys lost to Ajax Cape Town in their last league game but the moral
boosting win over the weekend against United FC to qualify for the Nedbank Cup
Final has restored confidence in the camp.
“We
have always known that on our way to reclaim the glory there will be
challenges. The most important thing is how you respond to them and we did
exactly that against United FC. The focus now is 100% on the game against
SuperSport United.
“Clashes
between the two sides have always been closely contested affairs and even
though we beat them in the first round that will count for nothing on
Wednesday. The team is geared up for this game.”
Corporate
Communications Manager, Vina Maphosa added saying; “The team is ready for yet
another, ‘final’. The importance of this game can never be over emphasized and
this has been shown by the rate at which the tickets have been selling since
the confirmation of this fixture. We call on our supporters to wear their gold
jersey in support of the ‘My colours are my life’ campaign. One of our strength
over the years has been the Kaizer Chiefs faithful in full voice in support of
the team.
“This
season the fans have once again demonstrated their support for the team. This
was evident in Cape Town despite the team losing the game, the supporters
rallied behind team. We need to continue in the same spirit at Peter Mokaba,”
said Maphosa urging fans to buy tickets early to avoid disappointment.”
Kickoff
for the game is billed for 19h30.
