Kaizer
Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter should be offered the opportunity to share his
success story with the other coaches.
In
countries where football is taken seriously and competent administrators have
nation' football at heart, the end of the season also means the time when
success and failures are analysed in the coaches' summit.
This
is not an option but a necessity and the South African Football Association (SAFA)
and Premier Soccer League (PSL) should not be an exception. Coaches like Baxter
should impart his experiences in winning the league title while Cavin Johnson
and Dan Malesela could provide valuable information on how they used some of
our players' natural attributes such as the ball skills, possession, creativity
and great mobility and create more attractive and successful football.
Bafana
Bafana coach Gordon Igesund and the rest of national coaches should also be
engaged in the summit, taking notes and learning for the sake of progress and
better performances.
The
key role is that of the technical director who should compile a report
comprising technical objectives and recommendations for the next season.
All
these should happen – if we are in a normal football society.
