The naked truth about Pirates championship failure this season

Throwing insults and blaming Roger de Sa alone will never be the best available option. Let's be honest, Dr. Irvin Khoza and his advisor by the name of Stanley "Screamer" Tshabalala let the Orlando Pirates family down by failing to acquire the signature of the quality players.

It is also an observed truth that the gap left by then team CEO Floyd Mbele in the administration is not filled properly. Orlando Pirates replaced Floyd by toothless Senzo Mazingisa who is ineffective and already failed to inspire the team. Mbele was hands on with the team administration and also players related matters including throwing his 2 cents worth of tactical inputs which many called it interventions with tactical team but it yield positive results.

Mbele has a winning mentality that was also transferred to players but unknown Mazingisa is lacking that influential magical touch. Mbele should be recalled back to the team before Mamelodi Sundowns appointed him General Manager of the team. His expertise will be vital towards the team rebuilding phase.

Another pragmatic fact is that many players signed this year were on free contracts from their previous teams. Pirates is known for signing quality players to add positive value to the team but this season, only quantity of useless and unimpressive players were signed to add numbers than championship value.

The current team is no longer balance especial upfront. The team toothless striking force is a serious area of concern which needs serious bolstering next season. Many quality players were linked with Pirates but for the first time Pirates was beaten in the market despite the famous catchphrase from Pirates fans" What Dr. Khoza wants, he gets it". The table has turned around for Dr. Khoza as this season he walked away empty handed.

There is a need to rebuild the team with quality players as 60% of Pirates players are not Pirates material due to  lack of hunger, tactical and technical quality, ambition,  fighting spirit and winning mentality.

Dr. Khoza and his advisor Tshabalala should break the bank to sign quality players for Pirates to claim its championship spot. They are a lot of quality players in the PSL who will add value to the team.

Management Radical Reform
Mbele must be a Deputy Chairman of the team responsible for players recruitment and overall management of the team. Dr. Khoza should remain as Chairman of the team but with more roles and responsibilities passed to Mbele managing the team on daily basis.

Roger de Sa should also be elevated to be a team CEO which is one of the role he filled at Bidvest Wits. RDS will be working under the wings of Mbele.

Mazingisa must be redeployed to the team development structure or Supporters Co-coordinator.

Radical management changes will add value to the team. The team also needs a vibrant, vocal and visible PRO. Mickey Modisane is an opposite of the best PRO qualities. He is invisible, mute and reactionary. To me, he is failing to fill the boots of Skhumbuzo Mthembu and Thabiso Parkies. I wonder if many fans are aware that he is a Communication Manager of the team. He is forever hibernating even when its summer time.

Catch them if you can but Kaizer Chiefs is on track to win the league after 7 years drought.
