Taurah
Chamisa was one of the Castle Superfan chosen to represent his country Zimbabwe
at the 29th Edition of the African Cup of Nations Final between Nigeria and
Burkina Faso played at the National Stadium, Johannesburg on Sunday
evening.
Chamisa,
a FC Platinum fan was 1 of the 8 winners from Zambia, Swaziland, Ghana and
Tanzania that was given an opportunity by Castle Lager to witness Nigeria’s
third time crowning as the African Champions.
Sunday
Mba scored the only goal of the match just before half to hand Nigeria the AFCON title– the
midfielder volleyed the ball past Mohamed Koffi into the far corner much to the
delight of the “Super Eagles” supporters and Taurah Chamisa of Zimbabwe .
“I
won an opportunity as a Superfan to support Nigeria as they are the best in
Africa, I hope my country is watching
and taking note ,Zimbabwe will be ready in the next tournament.” Added
Chamisa
The
FC Platinum supporter entered the Castle Super Fan competition after reading
about it in one of the local newspaper. “I went to the stadium in my best fan
regalia and thats how I was voted top 2
from 6 other finalists, I am excited to be here and my wishes came through as
Nigeria is crowned the African Champions for the third time”. Taura Chamisa
expressed his gratitude to Castle Lager for the opportunity.
Chamisa
and his fellow Castle Superfans enjoyed performances by D’banj, Kelly Khumalo,
Zonke & Thembesile Ntaka, Kenyan vocalist Muthoni and smooth house music
group Micasa during the ceremony.
During
the action packed final, the Superfans were joined by Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo
(popularly known as D’banj, Nigerian superstar who has won several music awards
at one of the National Stadium suites.
