Fireworks
are expected when the Glamour Boys welcome Free State Stars on Saturday, 16
February 2013. Tickets for the eagerly anticipated fixture are already on sale
at Shoprite/Checkers and Computicket nationwide selling for R40 for adults.
When
the two sides locked horns at the beginning of the season the pulsating fixture
produced a goalless draw - a game that ended Kaizer Chiefs winning streak early
in the season.
The
game will also see two of the highly rated goalkeepers in the continent,
Itumeleng Khune and Kennedy Mweene coming face to face with each other. Players
like Siphiwe Tshabalala, Kingston Nkhatha and Sthembiso Ngcobo have played for
Free State Stars before while Steve Komphela worked with Stuart Baxter in the national
team and had a brief spell with the Club back in 1993 will have a point to
prove.
According
to Vina Maphosa, Corporate Communications Manager; “Free State Stars will no
doubt come with guns blazing following their midweek win against Chippa United but
they better be warned that the game at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening will
be a totally different ball game. The FNB Stadium is our fortress and allows us
to play our kind of game.
“The
game against Mamelodi Sundowns is history and everyone is channeling their
energies on welcoming Free State Stars. We would like to urge our supporters to
once again come in numbers in support of the team. They have played a massive
role in the success of the team this season. We need to stand together and
Reclaim the Glory.
In
line with the spirit of Valentine’s Day there will be entertainment before and
at half time and fans are expected to walk away with prizes courtesy of the
Club’s main sponsors, Vodacom.
