The
South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), will be broadcasting live, the
nation’s soccer team Bafana Bafana, as they go against Brazil‘s national team
in a hand-over match, in the South American country.
The
game will be broadcast on SABC 1, on Friday 07 September 2012, with a build-up
to the match at 20:30, and the kick-off at 20:45. The match will be in
commemoration of South Africa handing over the hosting duties for the FIFA
World CupTM which will be held in Brazil in 2014.
Mr.
Hlaudi Motsoeneng, Acting Chief Operations Officer for the SABC said “As a
public service broadcaster, it is important for the SABC to broadast this
match, as it will be a closure on the 2012 FIFA World CupTM held in the
country, and will remind the country of the legacy left behind by this
tournament”.
Meanwhile
the International Olympics Committee thanked the SABC and Mr. Motsoeneng for
their participation and contribution to the 2012 Olympics games in London.
This
