Big
game this evening between Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic - it’s going
to be a tough but exciting free flowing game. Here is my detailed tactical
descriptions of the Bloemfontein Celtic possible 4-4-2 starting line-up.
1.
Thabani Stemmer - After the injury
of Patrick Tignyemb, Thabani grabbed the opportunity with man of the match
performances last season. He was marvelous to watch with improved goalkeeping
techniques. He is now a matured goalkeeper after spending many years at Pirates
without playing. It would be a fair decision to start with him ahead of Patrick
Tignyemb who didn’t play much in the last quarter of the season.
2.
Brent Lawler - He is a promising
defender with a potential to be amongst the best in the Premier Soccer League
(PSL). He is very strong at the back coupled with good physique. He will form a
solid combination with Dominic Isaacs at the back.
3.
Tsietsi Mahoa - He is the veteran of
the game. Mr. Quit Is Cool, calm, dedicated and strong at the back with good
offensive techniques. He is a clean player with high work rate and very
dangerous with his “Bending it like Beckham” free-kicks.
4.
Dominic Isaacs - despite lacking
pace, Domza is very strong in tackling strikers. He has very good in aerial
balls. He has enough experience to bottle Benni McCarthy with ease. He is hard
as nail defender who can be dirty in the game with his flying tackles.
5.
Thabo Nthethe - Captain my Captain
was amongst the best performer last year at Celtic. He has good leadership
skills and also good in organising defence. He is very strong with good balls
distribution and can be dangerous upfront especial scoring from set pieces and
corner kicks.
6.
Tladi Madubanya - “Doc”- Stood the
head and shoulders above the rest of Celtic midfielders last year. He is a key
factor in the team with great technical ability. He is quick, aggressive and
very confident on the ball. He has a good eye for goal and can play in any
attacking position He is a fast anchor-man with good defensive skills. He is
enjoying his free role at Celtic. One of the PSL fittest player and player to
watch this season
7.
Danny Venter - Very good left winger
who has bright future ahead of him but the problem is his erratic form when
playing. He needs to gain more confidence to command regular place at Celtic.
He is very poor in defending and tends to be lazy or lack fighting back spirit
especial after losing the ball.
8.
John Arwuah - Very strong anchor man
who will complement the good work of Tladi Madubanya. He is a hard worker with
good balls anticipating skills. He is good in marshalling the centre of the
field.
9.
Kurt Lentjies - Very creative and skillful
player with good balls distribution. He will be a key for Celtic success this
season. He is good player with high work rate coupled with good pace. Lyanda
Lennox Bacela and Siyabonga Nontshinga will depend on his creative role to bang
more goals this season.
10.
Lyanda Lennox Bacela - Celtic
leading goal-scorer last year, very dangerous in the box especial with aerial
balls. He is also good in protecting balls in the box. He is the penalty
specialist as most of his goals are from the penalties. Talking about
Christiano Ronaldo of South Africa.
11.
Siyabonga Nontshinga - Very good
striker who did well for Jomo Cosmos and even managed to represent Bafana
Bafana. He is a very fast striker with powerful shoot. With sufficient balls
supply, this boy has a potential to be counted amongst the best strikers in the
PSL. He is a fighter who can even drop deep to collect balls. He is another
player to watch this season.
