Politicians and businessmen can’t run soccer

Written By Unknown on Friday, February 10, 2012 | Friday, February 10, 2012

The whole bribery saga involving the South African Football Association (SAFA) just goes to show that if you are going to have politicians and businessmen running your football (soccer), you are bound to safa (suffer).

Lesley Sedibe openly talks about being clueless about the game, Kirsten Nematandani is just a denialist about his knowledge or lack thereof, on the beautiful game, Molefi Oliphant is just an opportunist, Mwelo Nokonyane a mere traditionalist, and suddenly there are strange names like Silindile 'Ace' Kika, who rock up from nowhere.

Successful FA’s associate themselves with people who understand and have passion for the game, the likes of Franz Beckenbauer, Michel Platini, Pele, Kalusha Bwalya and ect… not every ex-footballer will be a coach, some deserve and will deserve a slot in administration, the likes of Brian Baloyi, Jimmy Tau, Mike Ntombela, Vasili Sofiadelis and etc...

For as long as SAFA Authority exchange heads between politicians and businessmen, South African fans must just forget, they shall never see progress in that organisation!
