SAFA and Marawa sabotaged Shakes

Written By Unknown on Thursday, November 10, 2011 | Thursday, November 10, 2011

I would be doing dis-service to the Pure Football Experts (PFE) community if I didn’t voice my views on the under-23s debacle...

I’m shocked but not surprised that most South Africans have fallen pray to Shakes Mashaba's emotional game... that guy needs to take a hard look at himself before he goes around pointing fingers at people who are competent at their jobs.

His personal attack on Irvin Khoza is uncalled and lacks professionalism... it is NOT The Duke who instructed Premier Soccer League teams NOT to release players.

Shakes needs to open his eyes and realise that he is been sabotaged by South African Football Association (SAFA) and Robert Marawa (host of Discovery Sports Centre with Robert Marawa).

SAFA were able to present Pitso Mosimane's programme to the PSL early, hence an extra week was given to Pitso to prepare that embarrassment against Sierra Leone... also, and the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) period was made available under the assumption that the DANCERS (Bafana Bafana) would qualify... now; PSL was never given adequate schedule to accommodate the under-23s.

Granted, this coming weekend is FIFA international weekend (11/12/13 November 2011), but SHAKES requires these players for the weekend, camp and the Olympic qualifiers in Morocco... is this fair on the clubs? Considering that FIFA doesn’t really recognize under-23s?

If I was a club owner, I wouldn’t release any player for Shakes!
