Written By Unknown on Saturday, September 3, 2011 | Saturday, September 03, 2011

FOR SALE: SportFive are selling the rights for the Bafana Bafana game for R5 million!!!! So SABC might not show the game! Wait 'we' mean SABC wont paid R5 Million so 'you' wont see the Bafana Bafana vs Niger game!!!

Esaia Mclaren Molimola
They will easily recouop this I am paying for my DSTV as well as the TV License! Plus the other indirect revenue they are making!

I'm still pissed by what Caf is doing to us! I'm telling you Sports 5 belong to CAF or Sport 5 bribed CAF for all these CAF games; think about it Issa Hayatou speaks French and Sport 5 is a French company.

Somandladinho Somandla
South Africa don't be fooled by SABC, when PSL teams participate in continental competitions they never broadcast those games so they must not make SportFive a scapegoat, they failed ages ago. This SportFive thing is not new, they mustn't fool South Africa. This should have been a culture many months ago if a team go plays in Africa we get the score by SMS. So SABC what new here?

Lele Mbinda
SABC for once is CLEAN! CAF is to blame,
1. An alien company is tendered for broadcasting rights!
2. SportFive applies bad business practise.
3. CAF approved this type of dealing talking supply and demand how else can they afford to inflate and deflate pricing in this bold manner without fear of loosing the contract! I'm standing by SABC we can't allow bad business practise by opting for SuperSport. What does it say about us?

Phineas Tlomatsana
SABC? Comedians! CAF? Who are CAF and Issa Hayatou? Useless bunches. As for SABC Sport, what did you expect? Everything about them is mediocrity and pathetic including whole lot of their commentators and presenters. They got all this from their ANC. THEY SUCK.

Philani Dube
I wonder if the story we were given the last time they failed to televise a Bafana Bafana game was genuine. They claimed that they had a problem with flight connections and ended up arriving late blah blah. Yet Bafana Bafana leaving from OR Tambo Airport just like the SABC crew arrived in time for the game. ‎"ME think we was robbed." I suspect they had not paid the required fee but conviniently told a lie in fear of an outcry from the public. SABC is a joke. They can pretend to be victims here so that football lovers can sympathise but mina I am not duped."

Pedro Mapelo
SportFive is crazy.

Swona Swavona
Anyway SABC, how many good stuff has ever come out of that organization? SABC Sports? Maybe the guys who broadcast in Afrikaans on SABC2 are giving their clients quality, only the Discovery sports centre if you were to ask me! For soccer, think they are using phone camera, their focus is so narrow!

Vuyisani
I think there are a lot of people jealous of our democracy... How can you charge R5 million for 90 mins? If SABC pays this ridiculous amount, they'll have to pay again on every World Cup qualifier. That's just wrong. We're being explotated here. "As much as SABC has their faults, at the end of the day, SABC is our public broadcaster and this insult is just an insult to all of us South Africans. Instead of us throwing insults at the SABC, we should be focusing our attention at the real enemy, Sports5 ... R5 million? Nah ah, they can take their rights and feed em to the pigs."

Willy Speares Napo
Who is Sport 5 mara? They are insane. R5m for 90 minutes they have got this perception that we were hosting Fifa World Cup there4 we have money.

Motlatsi
Why didn't the SABC negotiate a package deal for away games in the beginning of the campaign or were they doubting Bafana will do well hence they did not negotiate an away package... if i was Sportfive i'd be doing the same thing... business is business. Now there's demand for bafana games because they're doing well... Sportfive are within their rights to charge whatever they want to charge.

Makgabo Wa Kgomo
It’s so unfair. SABC spokesperson mentioned that they paid R150 000 for a friendly between Brazil and another big team. When it comes to our National pride – SportFive up their fees ridiculously. If R5m is the final figure, I will understand if we not shown the game. SportFive must go to hell.

Romeo Moripa
Look here South Africans, Pleeeeaseee! Don't be fooled by a bunch Clueless Stupids, if someone failed to broadcast a local PSL game live here at home, and invites u to watch the tape together at 10pm. What do u expect in terms of an International games, just a serious flops with sum silly excuses. Sis!

Andani Hushpuppy-Slumdog Nethomboni
Why can we own the TV rights? And why do African TV rights have to be handled in France?

Thanduxolo Lizani
For the first time in many situations where the SABC has manage to keep us in short breaths and thinking weather they will be broadcasting the Bafana Bafana away games; I would like to share their opinion that its unthinkable what these Sport 5 guys are trying to do to us how can we pay 5 million to see our Country play TOTALY WRONG.

Guys, u can blame CAF all you want. Sports 5 has the right to the games and the will sell them at the "right" price. SABC are lying when they say they paid R150000 for a Brazil match. Do you guys remember the Australia ve Bafana game played in England a few years ago? Guess how much the SABC paid to braodcast that one------ yep!!! u r right!!! A whooping R5m.... They take us for granted. We are informed. R5m paid for a friendly with the soccerroos, yet they fail to pay the same amoutn for an official CAF fixture!!!!
