Watching Ajax Cape Town coming back from trailing 1-0 to AmaZulu and actually winning their game 2-1 Friday night made me look forward to the Orlando Pirates versus SuperSport United game, which didn't fail to entertain.
Well, it seems as though Pirates winning the league was more of a fantasy than reality. Don't get me wrong, Pirates have done well this season and other seasons that passed and they are still in it, but then its all depending on hope that Ajax slip up and they don't really look like a side that would do just that anytime soon.
You can tell the world you never was my girl
You can burn my clothes when I'm gone
Or you can tell your friends just what a fool I've been
And laugh and joke about me on the phone
You can tell my arms to go back onto the phone
You can tell my feet to hit the floor
Or you can tell my lilps to tell my fingertips
They won't be reaching out for you no more
Remember Billy Ray Cyrus' Achy breaky heart? Orlando Pirates is more of that to its fans. Its like a girlfriend that one showers with lots of love and gifts but then when it matters most disappoints you and leave you hanging on a thread broken hearted. I watched on TV as fans poured their tears in distress, did it mean they stopped hoping?
But don't tell my heart, my achy breaky heart
I just don't think it'd understand
And if you tell my heart, my achy breaky heart
He might blow up and kill this man
Ooo
Gavin Hunt during a post match interview shared a soft moment with the interviewer by wishing Foppe De Haan (Ajax Cape Town coach) luck. Gavin Hunt and his charges cleared De Haan's path by sweeping Orlando Pirates off the top of the table and now its in the hands of Ajax Cape Town to lose.
Is Irvin Khoza contemplating firing Ruud Krol at the end of the season? They are stalling with contract renewals and maybe they are just waiting in patience to see how the season ends before making any hasty decisions. The fans were introduced to new terms this season and everyone talking about the possibility
of a trebble. Football is a very funny games, a field of broken dreams indeed and most of the times it is the fans who are left to pick up the pierces.
A foul on Mabena was enough to claim a penalty, but as usual the refereeing in the PSL has never been in point. Pirates have lost it at the end for quiet some time now and they really need an appeaser for the fans. There is still the Nedbank Cup, but it wouldn't have much impact to the fans as the league. The league has eluded Pirates for more than a decade now and the team sure needs
vindication.
But don't tell my heart, my achy breaky heart
I just don't think it'd understand
And if you tell my heart, my achy breaky heart
He might blow up and kill this man

Very dissapointed fans indeed, but then a lot of unrealistic goals have been set for the team. The team would need a serious pick me up after tonight, but then Ajax look to be more on the edge than Pirates. Like I like to say, may the best team lift the PSL Cup....

Hey wena Pietersburg Seshego you amaze me indeed. The dangerman is Thomas Madigage trust me. Supersport is equal opportunity employer and also guarantees its staff religious freedom. But why was Madigage at the game and not in Moriya for his religoius pilgremage? He was busy brewing Thapela ya Sion. From the get go Pirates were not themselves and Tebogo Moloi should have been the one to tell that African Science was at work since he is a Mthakathi himself. It also tells the haters that PSL Chair is a fair leader and does not bribe referees as Ncobo would have you believe. Anyway diski is still rolling before the season is out. If it goes to Cape Town it still makes sense. Remember Ajax is a two team at the same time and the one in Amsterdam is their cheat sheet. No excuses they are here to unearth talent and ship it abroad. Thus their experts overseas are looking at PSL under a microscope. Hope you recall those years when Wits will destroy Chiefs especially in cup finals. Their secretman was Raymond Hack whose soccer credentials were of international standards and he understood his formulas well.
Having said all that soweto needs to unite and bring the trophy home. Thus I urge our strategic alliance Kaizer Chiefs, Moroka Swallows, Jomo Cosmos to rally behind Pirates. Inspite of it all Piates fought like a wounded dog and I am proud of them. Mukansi now has a chance to claim Jersey number one.
