Mosimane – There’s no time to play pretty football

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane strongly believes that the Premier Soccer League (PSL) championship will be decided in the last game of the season, but he is not ruling out the dark horse Bidvet Wits University in the championship race.

“I believe it will go to the end. We are getting pressure from Bidvest Wits also. Don’t write Wits off. They are getting results every week.”

Mosimane is confident to win all the four remaining games to walk away with the PSL championship at the end of the season, but he doesn’t foresee his team dropping any points against Mpumalanga Black Aces, Moroka Swallows, SuperSport United and Maritzburg United.

“It is four games to go and it won’t be easy, I don't know if it is right to take the lead now, but if you ask me do you want to lose and win it at the end I will say no. I don't know if it is the right time to take the lead, but we will see.”

Mosimane  strongly believes that the experience of  Surprise Moriri who regained his form  and also creating and scoring important goals , Teko Modise who is on top of his game , Anthony Laffor who is scoring goals and Alje Schut with best defensive techniques will made the championship difference at the end. The team also have an experienced of offensive minded player Lebohang Mokoena who is doing well in the team.

“The experience is carrying us, Teko Modise is getting man of the match accolades all the time, Surprise Moriri is replying for us by creating and scoring goals, Alje Schut is stable at the back by providing the much needed cover.”

Mosimane further said that the positive results are more important than good football. He is prepared to play dirty football whilst achieving positive results but scoring avalanches of goals will made huge difference as the league might be decided by goal differences at the end.

Sundowns beat Polokwane City, University of Pretoria and Bloemfontein Celtic but the overall form of the team was far from impressive despite winning the games. Sundowns even packed the bus against City protecting the 1 goal lead which justify that good football doesn’t all the time bring much needed positive results.

“There is no time to play pretty football, it's time to win matches and bring results. You don't score 45 goals when you are sitting at the back. More goals will win the league. We hope to score more goals.”
