Let
me cause a big debate and believe me, I am right as per CAF rules and
regulations.
A
team that wins the CAF Champions League automatically qualifies to defend its
trophy the following season irrespective of whether they are Champions of their
domestic league or not.
With
that said, should Orlando Pirates win CAF Champions League, they will
automatically be playing in the Champions League again in the next campaign.
NB: As per CAF's ruling, only one South African team can participate in the CAF Champions League per season until one South African team does excellently well in that tournament to pave a way for the second team, if that happens, the second team can join after a season, meaning its only after next season that we will see two South African teams in CAF Champions League.

Should
Pirates win CAF, Kaizer Chiefs won’t participate in CAF Champions League next
season, but Pirates will despite Chiefs being the defending champions
domestically. In fact Chiefs will be in CAF Confederations Cup as Nedbank
Champions.
