As usual, the list of Bafana Bafana's wrongs was again recycled by Bafana coach Gordon Igesund and those analysts last night after the defeat against an average Nigerian outfit.
The stereotype of reasons that are always given when either the Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs or Bafana lose matches, mostly include statements like "we gave the ball away to many times" or "the players lack composure" or "we just couldn't score" or "we weren't creative enough" and, the classical one, "we were rushing too much".
Now, in the opinion of many genuine foreign and few local experts the South African players are born with plenty qualities that should make them very competent on the ball and NOT to lose it; be COMPOSED and score goals; not to rush; be creative and competitive. They even printed such observations in the FIFA's technical reports.
However, the important question that is conveniently avoided still remains: who is supposed to ensure that the South African players do not lose the ball, become prolific goal scorers, use their creativity and do no rush their actions and decisions?
Here, by
identifying the truth and then start working on relevant solutions we will
surely address those chronic wrongs which plague the performance of our clubs
and Bafana. Is there any other option?
