The
Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee last night sat to hear the
cases involving Free State Stars and their coach, Steve Komphela and
Bloemfontein Celtic and coach Clinton Larsen.
They
were all charged for bringing the League and SAFA into disrepute in terms.
Below
are the findings:
Steve
Komphela and Free State Stars: They both pleaded guilty. Komphela was sentenced
to a fine of R50 000.00 and Free State Stars was sentenced to a fine of R25
000.00; both fines suspended for 12 months.
In
addition, they were ordered to address a letter of apology to the League,
the sponsors, the referee and SAFA. Komphela and Free State Stars were ordered
to pay their share of the costs.
Clinton
Larsen and Bloemfontein Celtic: They both pleaded guilty. Larsen was sentenced
to a fine of R50 000.00 and Bloemfontein Celtic was sentenced to a fine of R 25
000.00 both fines suspended for 12 months.
