After
reading that the architect of the Dutch total football Ruud Krol won the Tunisian
league with CS Sfaxien after 8 straight years of drought in his first season in
charged, now I have realised that Orlando Pirates lost a great coach with championship
winning mentality.
It
is depressing even now that the Krol was fired for failing to submit a mere
technical report after conquering the Premier Soccer League (PSL) whilst the
current coach Roger de Sa (RDS) has been retained for winning 2 games out of the
12 games in the 2nd round. Eish!
The
management should swallow its pride by acknowledging the worst committed
blunder which has now resulted in a barren season with an inexperience and
arrogant coach in charge. The positive management impact of Floyd Mbele has
been missed.
Poor
management decision making is now haunting the team but they don't want to
learn from the past mistakes. The team failed to retain the service of Tokelo
Rantie with speed, good composure and good eye for goals but management managed
to sign two immobile, pace-less and rigid strikers at the price of Rantie and
now Tlou Segolela might leave the team but management will manage two buy 3
ineffective wingers at the price of Segolela - talking about imprudent decision
making.
Pirates
has been known as the well organised team with effective management style but
now things are slowly but surely falling apart with many irrational decisions
taken which are not adding any value to the team success.
It
is a point of concern that a team lost its championship reputation after
dominating the league for 2 straight years but now the team is travelling the
drought route with the CAF Champions League as the last hope to redeem the
pride.
What
happen to the famous catchphrase:"What Khoza wants, he gets it"?
