Do we really have quality players?

Every season ends with the call: 'The only way the club will do well next season is for the management to buy quality players'. Really?

Those 'quality' players must surely be defenders who are technically sound and can defend and also build and attack from the back; midfielders who can keep possession and are creative; attackers who can score more that those miserable 13 goals recorded in the season just ended and so on.

Is there anyone who can tell where such 'quality' players can be found in local market? Isn't insane for a coach to ask for high 'quality' players when there aren't any? (Not any Under-20 outstanding player to match the criteria!)

My guess is that some rich clubs will again spend many millions to buy 'recycled' average or below average players and 'ensure' the supporters that in the next season they will see much better performances.
