Nike
today launched the new Mamelodi Sundowns FC away kit for the 2012-13 season at
the new Nike Factory Store in Mamelodi, Pretoria East, with a special
appearance by footballers from club.
Clayton
Daniels, Edward Manqele, Teko Modise, Nyasha Mushekwe, Siyabonga Ngubane and
Eleazar Rodgers presented the kit innovation and their plans for the season
ahead to their biggest fans who turned out to meet and greet their football
heroes. “The new kit is classic and reflects
the strong heritage of the club. We’ve got a great fighting spirit and the new
design and innovation will help the team perform at our best this season,” said
Teko Modise, Mamelodi Sundowns captain.
“It’s always great to see the support from our fans and especially
today, as the fans stood in line to buy the new jersey at the Nike store in
Mamelodi. We are hoping to do them proud
this season.”
The
new away kit is classic white with a bold stripe in the distinctive club
colours of green and yellow running from the left shoulder down to the hemline,
with the club logo sitting comfortably on the chest. White shorts and socks complete the new look.
The new kits are made from fabric constructed from recycled plastic bottles,
making them Nike’s most environmentally friendly kits ever produced. Each kit
(shirt and shorts) is made using up to thirteen recycled plastic water bottles.
This manufacturing process reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared
with manufacturing traditional polyester. Nike has used an estimated 115
million recycled plastic bottles to create its high performance national team
and club kits since 2010.
The
new away jersey and extended line of supporters gear is available at all Nike
Stores and leading retailers.
I still want this away gear!!! Best ever!
