Recently
soccer fans probed the soccer wisdom of Mamelodi Sundowns adviser(s) to Patrice
Motsepe regarding signing every player available in the market without
assessing the players need in the team. Player needs assessment is imperative
to recruit appropriate and useful players.
The
same scenario is now occurring at Orlando Pirates. Orlando Pirates' greedy and
selfish players recruitment strategy will end the careers of many players.
Orlando Pirates just like Sundowns are slowly but surely killing talent of
players.
Both
teams are forever signing players that they don't use. Njabulo Ntusi, Njabulo Manqana
and Talatou Boubacar, Lizo Mjepu were signed last season by Orlando Pirates but
now are transfer listed without playing sufficient games. Before, Orlando
Pirates released players like Robert Modiadia, Getulio Vargas and Speke
Manamela without touching the ball in an official game.
Now
the rookie players signed from lower divisions such as Hlabane Kutumela,
Patrick Ngidi, Patrick Mashele, Benjamin Nthete, Aubrey Ngoma and Thabo Rakhale
are available for loan. History taught me that loaned players don't make it
back at Orlando Pirates. It’s only Tlou Segolela who is enjoying sufficient
game time since coming back from Celtic on loan.
Orlando
Pirates has balance and quality team and there is no necessity to add more
players that won't add value to the team.My advice to Dr. Irvin Khoza, if it
ain't broke, don't fix it.
