Puma Introduces First Borussia Dortmund Kit

PUMA have launched the new Borussia Dortmund Home and Away kits for the 2012/13 season.

The first BVB kit made by the Sportslifestyle brand was revealed to hundreds of fans at an Open Air party on the Alten Markt court in the city centre of Dortmund.

Members of the Dortmund first team looked on as the shirt was presented through a live graffiti act, sprayed onto a five meter high model to gradually unveil the new design.

The new BVB Shirts feature the iconic club colours yellow and black in a striking and classic design that distinguishes the official licensed BVB team replica from other club kits.

With the PUMA Cat embroidery, the sponsor’s logo and the official BVB woven club badge.

The new Home and the Away shirts feature a second star for the first time in the club’s history, representing BVB’s fifth championship victory in the German Bundesliga, which Borussia Dortmund won in May.

The yellow Home shirt features a flat knit rib collar with contrast tipping and a tonal buttonless placket add a retro styling to this modern design.

The black Away shirt has a classic round collar, deep tonal cuffs and a prominent yellow insert at the top of the left side towards the chest. As an extra twist, the shirts feature the BVB slogan “Echte Liebe” (German for ‘True Love’), which symbolises the club and the brand’s passion for Football.

The shirts belongs to PUMA‘s POWER silo and offers heat transfer and DryCell™ technology, which provides excellent moisture management qualities.

BVBs new star signing Marco Reus commented, “PUMA is a great brand and this new kit really exceeds my expectation in terms of design and comfort. I can’t wait to walk out onto the pitch in this new kit for the first time and start BVBs defense of the Bundesliga Championship.”

Besides the new Home and Away kits, PUMA also launched a full merchandise and fanwear collection that includes a number of accessories, leisure wear and lifestyle pieces.

The new BVB Home and Away shirts, merchandise and fanwear are now available to buy in stores throughout Germany.
