PSL teams are not doing enough

I don’t think the Premier Soccer League (PSL) needs to re-package broadcasting rights or change anything. PSL sponsors have actually invested lot of money in PSL and PSL teams are not doing or re-investing enough to ensure they sponsors or stakeholders get satisfactory return on investment
Let me tell you why I say PSL teams are not doing enough. Well this is not fact just observation, but is probably close to being factual. PSL teams don’t invest in marketing their teams or simple don’t even have marketing budget and equipped marketing personnel with potential to grow the teams brand.
Hiring brand manager that just tell supporters when the game is going to be played is nonsense. In fact that’s not managing brand but simple transfering information which is not needed in most cases. I know is sporting code, but where else in the world are you going to have successful product if you don’t advertise it?
PSL has grown financial muscle corroborated by sponsors only, instead of wholesome growth supported by support from fans filling stadiums or improved level of accountability and consistent quality of football display. PSL teams have one source of income, money from sponsors, they don’t care about making revenue from gate takings or selling they merchandise. They’re greedy, but not greedy enough to levarage other ways of making revenue.
Solution is simple.
*Invest in marketing the brand.
*Ensure the brand you claim to sell is needed quality.
*Be consistent.
*Be accountable to fans.
*Put the right people in marketing channels not unqualified friends or family members.
*Be considerate of fans suggestions.
And the support will follow and will even grow the PSL brand more.
After all in free market consumers choose where they spend they money, if we think going to stadium is not worth our hard earned money we must turn to alternative, which is watching game at TV and satisfy our need.
PSL teams needs to move with times and evolve to business level.

  1. Dear disgruntled disemphratiased domy. Go back to school and learn somemore. Your tone is too explosive and you are on a wrong platform. Whatever you say ends up here in this blog dommy. Had you been seasoned enough you will follow correct procedure. It is what it is untill those who run it see something else. You actually need to spend more time on you TV you bought from house braking crew. Iam very happy with how things are done, just do not have time for cowards who hide behind the desk pretending to be at work or serving their country but blogging poop. You are a damn fool, who in hell do you freaken think you are to tell the elders how to do their thing. you need to consider hunting you with one balls.

I know you are a very intelligent person, but right now you are acting like a clown, Tswaledi did say that this is his/her opinion and not a fact. So you have no right to rubish anyone's opinion because nobody's opinion is neither right nor wrong.
Instead of attacking him/her you should be argueing with your tangible opinions.

I agree with Tswaledi, Chiefs and Pirates are the biggest teams in SA but can we guess how much are these team spending in advertising these giantgantic brands?

  3. hey yoou son of gun water sprikler and company go join business or hand in your resume and lets see how many are better qualified than you. This is not a class room platform or pedagogy but recreation. Who in this whole wide world has or runs great business by litening to Tom, Dick and Harry? Where were you when it all started? In the stands I guess and that is where you belong. Keep your behind on the seat and not your curious ego on the blog. May you find in your heart to celebrate those who have brought us from a proud past into a victorious future. Even ants know they work best together. They do the work and never pointing fingers. Marketing starts with you recruiting fans to attend the games. Do not point the road be the road people can use. Marketing is making sure you help soccer lovers get home safe especially after night games on your car and gas. Marketing also mean you buy a descent meal for kids who make it to the stadium on their own. Marketing means youn pick up every liter you can on your way and dispose it well. Marketing means you stop blogging while at work so when your boss searches your work computer engine it does not reflect you spend more time politicking soccer but are gamefully employed. Marketing means you send a thank you note to your team or those who lead this fraternity in good times and not so good times.

Hope you get it, marketing is doing and not running your mad cow disease mouth. Hey you wake up, marketing is understanding the game. Make sure we win crucial games and take a chance on not so crucial games with hope of making up. You cannot play your best game in all games. You select your games you want to win and that mean you have games you want to loose. But why loose crucial games and win not so crucial games?
