Can Modise be the player to save Bafana against Nigeria?
Orlando Pirates midfielder and PSL Footballer of the Season Teko Modise produced a superb performance to help Bafana Bafana draw against Australia in an International Friendly played in London on 20 August 2008. Modise, who is no longer a regular at Pirates was operating in a strange wide position in the Bafana colours. However, Teko showed why he won PSL Footballer of the Season award with a grand performance and to add to that he scored a dynamic equaliser that made Bafana draw 2-all against Australia. After this superb display can we say Teko is the player to save Bafana on 6 September 2008 when they face Nigeria – the “Super Eagles”? Better play by Bafana Bafana but in terms of skills and tactical awareness, we we could not match them.Siyabonga showed touches of brilliance, well done boy.Carnel is the right man for the left back position.Teko, despite the cracker goal is not convincing.Shabalala was on holiday.OJ (or Booth) is only answer to the defence. Khune committed a lot of mistakes but we cant blame him but our league standard that has made average players look good. You can not make the same mistake 5 times in one game.
ReplyDeleteWonderfull Goal Teko, Welldone. Nkosi, wellcome back, the Goal was outstanding as well. Lifa came in a bit late but his authority in the middle was fantastic. his touches are matured. He knows what to do with the ball.

ReplyDeleteWhat a performance from Teko? His hills can tell the whole story. The whole concern is centre back, something agently needs to b done really. We do have abo Mabizela, Johannes, Lucus Thwala, Mathew Booth, the list is endless y do we keep on using costly Mbazo and Nassif?
