This was a night that will go into record books at Anfield. This was the 250th game for Rafa Benitez in charge. What an atmosphere at the stadium. The fans came in anticipation of two things; Steven Gerrard's 100th goal for the Reds and Robby Keane's first ever goal for Liverpool. It only took 4 minutes for Liverpool to open their scoring. That after a brilliant header by Torres was saved off the line and Dirk Kuyt blasted the rebound into the net.
Then came the moment that Robbie Keane should have dreamt about as a young boy growing up in Ireland, his first ever goal for the team He supported as a young boy, at Anfield nogal, and what a brilliant finish it was. Then all the moment that crowned a night for Liverpool, the skipper himself, scoring the 100th goal for the side He has shown commitment to for years. It was the 76 minute when a free kick was played off to Stevy and he hit a cracker, the next thing Anfield was in celebratory mood. The ball had kissed the back of the net, for Stevy G's century. Just two minutes later it was Koevermans who grabbed a consolation goal for PSV.
Then first it was Keane who went off to a standing ovation, then the captain himself. What a night at Anfield.
